The victory of the 21st Scudetto, won under the leadership of Cristian Chivu, officially kicked off Inter’s planning for next season. The stated goal of the Nerazzurri management is to further raise the quality level of the squad in order to return to being absolute protagonists in the Champions League, trying to erase the disappointment of the last European final. To do so, the club is considering a strategy that combines the inclusion of young international talents with experienced grafts, necessary to handle the pressure of the big European nights.

The first piece of this new cycle concerns the goalkeeper, where Guglielmo Vicario seems to be close from returning to Italy to wear the Nerazzurri jersey. The Tottenham goalkeeper would have already reached an agreement in principle on personal terms, representing the ideal profile to guarantee security and reliability in the long run. At the same time, the defense could undergo important changes: while trying to resist Barcelona’s assaults for Alessandro Bastoni, they are also working on the inclusion of up-and-coming profiles such as Muharemovic, who are needed to give the starters breathing space in an increasingly busy schedule.

In midfield, the top priority is the inclusion of physicality and dynamism, with Roma’s Manu Koné identified as the main target to complete a department that already boasts the quality of Barella and Calhanoglu (who should still remain in the Nerazzurri, despite rumors). However, the real knockout blow to ignite fans’ dreams bears the name of Nico Paz: the talented Argentine is considered the right man to ensure that technical leap forward between the lines and offer more European tactical variants. The management is also monitoring the situation of Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka, on a zero-parameter basis, a profile that would bring that winning mentality expressly requested by President Marotta to compete at the highest international levels.

As for the outside lanes and the attack, the market will depend a lot on possible excellent exits, with Denzel Dumfries and Marcus Thuram constantly at the center of transfer rumors. Should the Dutchman leave in the summer, the designated replacement would seem to be the young Italian Palestra, currently with Cagliari but owned by Atalanta, an operation that would confirm the club’s desire to maintain a strong national block. In the forwards, the confirmation of the pair composed of Lautaro Martinez and Thuram remains the starting basis, but the need for a player capable of jumping the man and creating numerical superiority remains a priority to allow Chivu’s Inter not to be predictable and to aim firmly for the Champions League final. On this front, there has been much talk of Moussa Diaby, a French winger who would like to relaunch himself in Europe after his Arab interlude at Al-Ittihad.
