Tennis boycott, Jannik Sinner finds a new ally

The tennis world is shaken by the protest of many athletes, and some have even gone so far as to speculate on a general boycott against Slams. At the center of the issue is the percentage of revenue that is allocated to the players: many tennis players believe they deserve more and are taking a stand.
These include Jannik Sinner, who in recent days has spoken very clearly: “There is an ongoing dialogue between us players and the Slams. We are at a time when women and men are united to demand more respect. We have been silent for too long and the time has come to speak up. We know that the Slams are more prestigious and we care, now they are giving us too little. I think we have to start somewhere, and I would understand if some players decided to boycott.”
Many other tennis players sided with the San Candido ace, and among them was Kazakhstan’s Aleksandr Bublik: “I fully agree with the position of the players, we deserve more respect,” he said at a press conference. “If I were to receive a message tomorrow that we will skip all the majors, I would have no problem to side with it. We are not being treated fairly, although we are the ones allowing this system to go on by offering our show to the people. There is no justice right now.”
Of a different mind Emma Raducanu: “For me, Slams represent tennis in an excellent way. They bring something that money cannot offer and that is what matters most to me, what I value. I would not be part of a boycott, but everyone makes their own choices.”
