Many VIP spectators followed in the stands Jannik Sinner’s premiere at the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome. At the Foro Italico it was a routine match for the Azzurro, who overcame Sebastian Ofner in two sets, but in the stands the audience was exceptional.

Among the well-known people spotted was Rosario Fiorello, who followed the entire match from start to finish. Also in the front row was Federtennis president Angelo Binaghi and former world champion soccer player Marco Tardelli, as well as singer Brunori Sas. Before the match, the world number one had met with famous star Andrea Bocelli.

Dad Hanspeter and mom Siglinde were also in the stands, while surprisingly Laila Hasanovic was not present in the Azzurro box with coaches Vagnozzi and Cahill. Usually the Danish model is in the corner with the coaches, but today she was not seen at the Foro Italico. Hasanovic, already spotted in Rome anyway, will probably attend matches starting next week when the tournament gets into full swing. In the stands many banners for the Azzurro, now everyone’s favorite: “Jannik king of Rome,” “Thank you for existing,” “Heritage of Humanity” among the most popular slogans.

On the court, Sinner dominated with the scores of 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and a half of play, never conceding a break ball to his opponent. The only note of apprehension of the evening came not from the court but from the stands: in the second set, the match was interrupted twice due to as many spectators in the stands falling ill. In both cases the medical staff intervened promptly and the fans walked out of the facility on their own legs, to the applause of the Central audience.
