Olimpia Milano ended the regular season in third place. As a result, it will face Reggio Emilia in the first round of the LBA playoffs. The team led by coach Dimitris Priftis ended the season on an upswing, winning 10 of the last 12 games played.

Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday at the Forum (2:30 p.m. ball). The first of a best-of-five series in which the red-and-whites are called upon to change pace to make it all the way and take home the Scudetto. Coach Peppe Poeta, in the postgame of the challenge lost to Trento, asked his players for “more attention.”

They will need it, especially to stop Reggio Emilia’s ace Troy Caupain. The U.S. point guard is the team’s offensive soul. In the league, he has been traveling at an average of 15.2 points per game with an excellent 18.5 rating (third overall in the entire A Series).

Olimpia must also deal with the knee injury suffered by Josh Nebo during the last game of the season in Trento. News in that regard is awaited. Should he stop, coach Peppe Poeta would again put his faith in Devin Booker, currently out of the playoff rotation.
