Lorenzo Musetti, not at his best, surrenders to Casper Ruud: path ended in Rome

Lorenzo Musetti’s run at the Internazionali d’Italia ended in the round of 16. The Italian, evidently not in top physical condition, surrendered to Casper Ruud in two sets: 6-3, 6-1 the partials in favor of the Norwegian who thus flies to the quarterfinals. A very fast match that lasted “only” one hour and 17 minutes.
In the first set, Lorenzo Musetti makes a lot of mistakes while Casper Ruud is practically perfect. The blue player complains a lot and does not find the right feeling on the court. In a flash, the 27-year-old Norwegian takes the set home with a partial 6-3.
In the second set, immediately break in favor of Casper Ruud. The Italian does not seem to be at his best. There also comes the call of the medical timeout (on 3-0 for the Norwegian) to try to solve the left thigh problem accused in the previous match against Francisco Cerundolo. With effort, Lorenzo Musetti conquers the game that is worth the 1-4. The Norwegian does not get distracted and closes the practice in a nonchalant way: 6-1 the partial of the second set.
Bitter Lorenzo Musetti who, as the number 8 seed on the scoreboard, hoped to take more satisfaction at the Foro Italico.
