Spanish champion Barcelona is preparing to say goodbye to Robert Lewandowski. All signs point toward a farewell that could materialize on Sunday night at Camp Nou, in the last home La Liga match against Betis. The Polish striker has not yet definitively dissolved his reservations about his future, but there is a growing belief in Spain that his adventure in Catalonia has reached the end credits. And the most concrete hypothesis leads to Saudi Arabia. The blaugrana club’s attempts to convince him to stay have not been enough.

According to reports from “Sport,” in recent weeks the MLS track had also gained momentum, with Chicago Fire FC interested in the bomber. In the last few hours, however, the scenario would have changed significantly: the Saudi Pro League now represents the most welcome destination for the player, who will turn 38 in August.

Two pharaonic offers would be on the table, but in pole position seems to be Al Hilal SFC led by Simone Inzaghi. According to Polish media, the Saudi club has reportedly put on the table a €90 million-a-season contract, a proposal that Lewandowski is reportedly carefully considering together with his entourage. The former Bayern Munich center forward wants to take some more time before making a final decision, but great optimism is seeping out of Saudi soccer about the possibility of seeing him in the Saudi Pro League as early as next season.

The Italian suggestion thus also fades: both AC Milan and Juventus had thought of him as the ideal reinforcement to add experience and goals to the offensive department.
