Juve Stabia wasteful, Monza bails out and glimpses final Serie A spot

Juve Stabia wasted a great opportunity and Monza came out of the Menti with a heavy smile in terms of qualification. In the first leg of the Serie B playoff semifinals, the “biancorossi” seemed to be down and out after Mosti’s goals in the 57th minute and Okoro’s in the 68th minute, but in the final they found an unhoped-for comeback that was worth the 2-2.
After a blocked first half poor in chances, the match lit up in the second half. Juve Stabia took the lead thanks to Mosti, good at finalizing from a few steps a ball put in the middle by Cacciamani. The Campani continued to push and also found the double with Okoro, who again took advantage of an assist from an irrepressible Cacciamani.
When the match seemed to be on its way, Monza reopened everything by taking advantage of two defensive errors by the opponents. In the 77th minute Carboni shortened the distance taking advantage of an uncertainty of Confente, then in the 89th minute Delli Carri signed the final 2-2 in a scrum.
In the final, there was no shortage of protests from Juve Stabia, furious for the penalty that led to Monza’s equalizer (with the expulsion of ds Lovisa) and for an alleged penalty not granted. The absence of Diakité, cautioned as a cautioned player and thus disqualified for the return leg, will also weigh heavily. The draw rewards above all Monza, which at the U-Power Stadium will be able to count on two out of three results to win the final playoff. Juve Stabia, on the other hand, will be obliged to win to continue chasing the promotion dream.
