MotoGp, in Barcelona bad accident also in testing: Jorge Martin in hospital, message to fans

The day of testing at the Barcelona Circuit, which began at 11 a.m. on Monday, was also marked by a nasty fall and a big scare.
After the accidents that landed Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco in the hospital, this time it was Jorge Martin who was in danger, falling badly in turn-7 during a session characterized by unstable weather and rain on the track. Martin was taken to Dexeus University Hospital, where doctors fortunately found no fractures or worrying injuries.
“Once again … grateful to be okay after a bad crash. Thanks to the doctors on the track, their work was awesome,” the Spanish Aprilia rider wrote on Instagram a few hours after the bad crash, showing a photo of him on a stretcher with his neck immobilized. The session, which was interrupted after the crash, resumed but the teams preferred to avoid further risks, closing the shutters at 4:45 p.m. instead of 6 p.m., as initially planned.
For the record, the best time was Pedro Acosta’s 1:38.767 on KTM, followed by Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha, +0.064) and Enea Bastianini (KTM, +0.117). In addition to the announced absentees, Fabio Di Giannantonio, who won on Sunday but equally came out slumped, as he was involved in the heavy bang that sent Alex Marquez to the hospital.
Only nine laps in total, however, for Pecco Bagnaia, who set a best time of 1:39.319 by placing tenth. The three-time world champion was the only official Ducati team rider on the track, given the absence of long-suffering Marc Marquez, whose return time continues to be an unknown for the Borgo Panigale Racing Department.
