Italy’s repechage to World Cup, a surprising new hypothesis pops up over health issues

The gathering of the Congolese national team scheduled to take place in Kinshasa on May 26 will not take place. The cancellation has been confirmed for health reasons, according to Jerry Kalemo, media manager of the Leopards.
The meeting was to include several important moments in Kinshasa. Scheduled were a press conference by technical commissioner Sébastien Desabre, a decoration ceremony for the players, the presentation of the banner by the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, as well as a training session open to the public at the Stade Tata Raphaël.
In Nigeria, some people, in a shameless as well as surprising attempt, tried to seize the opportunity to ask for a substitution for the Leopards, who, however, in order to avoid problems, will meet directly in Belgium to begin their preparation. Two friendly matches are scheduled before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The first will see the DRC face Denmark on June 3 at 8 p.m. at the Stade de Sclessin stadium in Belgium. The second will be played on June 9 at 4 p.m. in Marbella, Spain, against Chile.
Another complication for the team and its fans involves the U.S. Embassy, which has suspended all visa services in the DRC since May 18. The measure affects both immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, including tourists, businessmen, students, and exchange program visitors.
As a result, Congolese residing in the country risk not being able to travel to the United States. The Leopards could then play the first and third round games in Houston and Atlanta without the support of fans who have arrived from the DRC. The second game is scheduled to be played in Guadalajara, Mexico.
