The new, decidedly “more electric” Formula 1, has not pleased Max Verstappen from the start. After the many attacks, it has now come to a crucial point: the four-time World Champion has no intention of getting another year in F1 with the current rules.

As is well known, ahead of 2027, there is talk of a rule change by the FIA. Specifically, a different split between the endothermic and electric parts within the Power Unit: from the current 50%-50% to the new 60%-40%, thus with more power to the endothermic part.

A solution that has split the paddock in two. There are those who do not like this new direction taken by the FIA, particularly Ferrari, Audi and Honda. This “rule change” would make the possible help of the Aduo useless in view of next season.

Max Verstappen, at the idea that the new rules hypothesized by the FIA for next season could be “blocked,” literally blurted out, “If everything will remain the same next season, we’ll see… For me, mentally, it would not be sustainable to continue in this way for another year,” his words after the qualifying of the Canadian GP. In short, either change or Max Verstappen will make other choices. Knowing the Dutchman, one definitely not prone to compromise, here is where the hypothesis of retirement from F1 becomes concrete. Ball in the hands of the FIA.
