Premier League 2025-2026: Burnley-Wolverhampton, the likely lineups

The curtain falls on the Premier League 2025-2026, with ten matches all taking place at the same time at 5 p.m. Italian time (4 p.m. local time): an event that is now more unique than rare, but one that presents great fascination in light of several verdicts yet to be delivered. Arsenal, already certain to reside on the throne of English soccer 22 years after the last time, will play with great calm: the Gunners close the year at home to Conference League finalist Crystal Palace, moving some 15 kilometers to London itself.
All eyes will also be on Manchester’s Eithad Stadium for Pep Guardiola’s last game on the City bench: opponent of the day is Aston Villa, winner of the Europa League and already certain to participate in the Champions League regardless of how they finish in the standings. Manchester United is also already certain to take part in Europe’s top competition: Michael Carrick’s Red Devils, fresh off their renewal, close the year at home to Brighton, ready to defend the seventh place that is worth entry into the Europa League.
Surprise Bournemouth, which will be in Europe next year, plays on the final day at home to an already long-saved Nottingham Forest, while Chelsea, currently eighth but still uncertain of at least Conference League participation, plays a real direct clash with Sunderland, tenth at -1 in the standings. Also important for the cups is Liverpool-Brentford: the Reds would need a momentous tumble to lose fifth place (which in Albion land is worth the Champions League), the Bees are playing their last chance for Europe.
Fulham-Newcastle and Burnley-Wolverhampton simply play for Sunday glory, while the remaining two matches will decide the salvation fight: the favorite to start is Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham, which has collected 38 points so far but plays at home with an Everton side that, with a win and a series of other favorable results, can latch onto the Europe zone; West Ham, on the other hand, has 36 and, in front of a friendly crowd against a Leeds side that has nothing more to ask of the season, can only win and hope.
