Victor Osimhen, farewell air with Galatasaray: Serie A track reopens, despite obstacles

Victor Osimhen is reportedly ready to leave Galatasaray: the news, a real market scoop, comes directly from Nigeria’s technical commissioner Eric Chelle, who explained to reporters in the aftermath of the 3-0 friendly win over Jamaica that he did not call him up because “he will most likely change teams and I preferred him to stay at home, as he is not 100 percent.”
The Super Eagles selector’s words resonated immediately among insiders, who immediately went wild with speculation. The most popular rumor is that of a landing in the Premier League, at the court of the ambitious Manchester United, which, having found the Champions zone after a couple of very difficult years, is ready to reinforce its attack with the Nigerian bomber, perhaps flanking him with Rafael Leao, in turn leaving Milan.
In the background, however, the track that would bring Osimhen himself back to Serie A is reopened: according to Turkish media reports, the former Napoli man’s contract includes an “anti-Italy” clause of at least 50 million euros imposed by the Azzurri club at the time of his final transfer to Galatasaray, which would make the Nigerian purchasable without penalty only after June 30, 2027.
Juventus, which had shown interest in the player in recent months, remains at the window, however, to figure out what to do. Among the suitors is also AC Milan, which for the refoundation after the disappointing 2025-2026 wants to start again with a heavyweight bomber with proven experience in the top Italian league and is eager to see if the obstacles can still somehow be circumvented, in a summer market that for the disappointments of the season just past promises to be as delicate as ever.
