Jannik Sinner’s last hours in Italy were punctuated by examinations at San Raffaele in Milan, where the world number one completed the cardiac and metabolic check-up scheduled after the malaise he felt at Roland Garros. A course of thorough checks, necessary to clarify definitively the Paris episode and arrive at Wimbledon with absolute certainty. An important step towards London, as confirmed by Paolo Bertolucci, who spoke to Rai Radio 1 during the program ‘Un giorno da pecora’.

“Jannik had already scheduled these two days of visits, I knew he would do a complete check-up – said the former Davisman -. The program is clear, tonight he returns to Monte Carlo and tomorrow he resumes training. No pre-Wimbledon tournaments, at most an exhibition match.” For Bertolucci, it is important that the path of recovery proceeds smoothly and that the team continues with a clear line: no tournaments on grass before the Championships, only targeted work and constant monitoring of fitness.

The return to Monte Carlo will therefore mark the beginning of the operational phase of the pre‑Wimbledon program. After avoiding public statements during the two days spent at San Raffaele, Sinner will resume training with the goal of regaining that rhythm and brilliance shown in the resounding positive series between Indian Wells and Rome, passing through Miami, Monte Carlo and Madrid.

The choice not to play intermediate tournaments, already confirmed in recent weeks, is now further reinforced by Bertolucci’s words: a linear path, without deviations, built to arrive in London in the best possible condition. The smile shown by Sinner on leaving the clinic and the sensations filtered from the Milan hospital indicate that there are no alarms. Only a willingness to understand, prevent and start again.
