Neven Spahija is ready to take on Olimpia Milano

On the eve of Game 3 of the Scudetto Finals between Reyer Venezia and Olimpia Milano at the Taliercio, with the series tied at 2 in favor of the Biancorossi, who thus have their first match point, Orogranata coach Neven Spahija is trying to get his team back on track by starting with one certainty: his players need to step up their game.
“After the two tough losses in Milan, we’ve had a chance to rest and recharge a bit,” explained the Croatian coach during the pre-game press conference. “We’re approaching this Game 3 with our usual philosophy: in sports, you can lose, but the important thing is to understand why. In the first two games, we lacked energy and fell short in terms of aggressiveness, a fundamental aspect we absolutely must improve.”
Spahija doesn’t mince words and acknowledges the opponent’s strength: “When you play against a team of Milan’s caliber, you have to be ready to always give a little more of yourself—never less—if you want to win. They’re playing at a very high level right now; they’re strong and deep, but that doesn’t change what we have to do on the court.”
The return to the Taliercio is a key factor: “Now we’re playing at home, in front of our fans who have always helped us so much. I want to sincerely thank the fans who traveled all the way to Milan and never gave up from the first minute to the last. We’ve clearly seen where our problems lie, and now we have to fix as many of them as possible. Not everything will be fixed right away, but we’ll give it our all.”
