Turin Transfer Market: A Player Is Under Close Scrutiny in the England-Croatia Match

On Tuesday evening at 10 p.m. Italian time, England and Croatia will face off in the opening match of Group L of the 2026 World Cup. With Italy failing to qualify for the World Cup, many Azzurri fans will be watching the match between the Three Lions and the Checkered Ones, including several Torino executives.
The Granata club is on the hunt for a new goalkeeper: Franco Israel has proven to be a terrible signing (acquired last summer, he’s played just 10 games this season), and Alberto Paleari is expected to return to the role of backup. Among the names being considered by Gianluca Petrachi is Dominik Livakovic.
The experienced goalkeeper, born in Zadar—who will in all likelihood start in the match against England—is coming off a troubled season: last summer he went on loan to Girona, but the club let him go after signing Ter Stegen. From January to June, he played for Dinamo Zagreb, and after the World Cup, he will return to Fenerbahçe, which holds his rights.
However, the Turkish club acquired Ederson from Manchester City last season, and he will in all likelihood remain the starter next season—which is why Livakovic is looking for a new challenge. In addition to the Croatian goalkeeper, Torino also has its sights set on Bologna’s Federico Ravaglia.
