According to rumors, Ferrari team principal Binotto may leave at the end of the season
Mattia Binotto at the end of the line with Ferrari: according to rumors reported by Sky, a turnaround at the top management of the Maranello-based team is coming at the end of the 2022 World Championship.
Having taken over from Maurizio Arrivabene in 2019, Binotto has failed to lead the Prancing Horse back to World Championship victory in the four years he has been in charge as team principal, and in recent seasons he has also been subjected to several criticisms for the wall’s strategies during Grands Prix.
In his place, according to Sky, Ferrari is considering the profile of Frederic Vasseur, current team principal of Alfa Romeo. Having arrived at Renault in 2016, Vasseur has been team principal and CEO of Sauber since 2017.
However, Ferrari with a note released in the afternoon denied this reconstruction: “In relation to speculations that have appeared in some press organs regarding the position of the Scuderia’s Team Principal, Mattia Binotto, Ferrari communicates that these are rumors totally without foundation.”
Ferrari was founded in 1947 by Enzo Ferrari, in Maranello, in the province of Modena. It is involved in the Formula One world championship, where it holds the record for the number of world Constructors’ titles won (16), and in the FIA Sport Prototypes and Endurance world championships. The official symbol is that of the prancing horse on a yellow background, the color representing the city of Modena.
