Andrey Rublev spoke about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz and how they have changed the tour and his own career in an interview with Tennis365 just a few days before the start of Wimbledon, offering a unique perspective on their duopoly.

“It’s tough to play against them, but it’s always interesting to face them,” the Russian explained. “Thanks to them, you can test yourself and improve faster; playing against them raises your level. That’s my take on it. They’re both great, but you have to try to match them.”

At Wimbledon, Rublev will aim to match or improve upon his best result, achieved in 2023 when he reached the quarterfinals: “As far as I’m concerned, I have to get past the first three or four rounds, and that’s not easy. I don’t think about who’s playing or who’s injured. I just focus on myself and see how far I can go.”

On Thursday, Sinner trained on Court 1 at the All England Club with Novak Djokovic for about an hour, winning the set they played 6-3 and leaving a positive impression on the spectators in attendance. The South Tyrolean, the defending champion, also took part in the trophy presentation ceremony, stating: “For me, it’s always been *The Tournament*—it’s so iconic and historic, and having my name among the winners means the world to me.” Sinner will make his debut on Monday, June 29, no earlier than 2:00 p.m.
