Annika Sieff Suffers a Terrible Fall and Serious Injury During Practice

Annika Sieff suffered a bad fall and a serious injury during a training session with the women’s team that was taking place in Predazzo, in the Province of Trento.
The 22-year-old ski jumper from Trentino, a former Nordic combined athlete and member of the Fiamme Oro team, suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and the medial collateral ligament in her right knee.
She was immediately taken to La Madonnina Hospital in Milan, where she was examined by FISI Medical Commission President Andrea Panzeri, who will perform surgery on her in the coming days. The Italian athlete’s upcoming season is at serious risk, as she faces a long layoff.
Sieff finished last season’s World Cup in 23rd place in the overall standings and competed in the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics, placing 13th and 19th in the individual events. In Nordic combined, which was contested until 2023, she earned five World Cup podium finishes during her career and narrowly missed the podium in the overall standings in 2023.
