Turin Transfer Market: Player Cut from the Roster, Granata Ready to Take Advantage

It’s decision time in Turin for the left back: it’s no secret that Torino’s transfer team is working to bring Rafael Obrador back to Turin after last season’s loan.
A sign has come from Portugal that brings Torino closer to its goal: the Spanish winger is not on Benfica’s roster for summer training camp. The player is not part of the Eagles’ plans and will definitely be leaving next summer.
Torino has never stopped communicating with Obrador, his agent, and Benfica since last season’s loan and hopes to bring him back to Italy soon. The Granata have proposed a new loan deal to the Portuguese club, with an option or obligation to buy upon the fulfillment of certain conditions, at a lower price than the 9 million euros set last year.
Other clubs are ready to enter the race for the Spanish player, but Torino holds the upper hand: the Spaniard has performed well in Serie A, playing 16 matches since January and contributing one goal and three assists.
On the outgoing front, meanwhile, the club is determined to sell Cristiano Biraghi, who has gradually slipped down the team’s pecking order. The former Fiorentina winger earns a gross annual salary of 3 million euros—the highest on the roster after forwards Simeone and Adams—and the club is ready to consider any offer to reduce its payroll, even if it means accepting a sale at a discount. The former Fiorentina captain’s contract expires in 2027: his departure would free up valuable resources, which could also be used to finance Obrador’s return.
