Turin Transfer Market: English Clubs Are Stepping In, and the Deal May Fall Through

The summer transfer window has opened, and Torino is looking for the right players to fill the gaps in Ignazio Abate’s squad, especially in defense. For weeks, the Granata have been courting Federico Ravaglia, Bologna’s goalkeeper, but they have not yet managed to seal the deal.

The Piedmontese and Emilian clubs have entered into negotiations that are proceeding slowly, and the deal could soon stall due to the involvement of foreign clubs interested in the goalkeeper. According to rumors reported by Tuttosport, several English clubs, including Watford, have expressed interest in the Rossoblu goalkeeper.

The British club plays in the Championship, England’s second division, and is reportedly ready to offer Ravaglia a starting role to help him continue his development. Watford has reportedly offered to sign the player on a permanent basis—an option that appeals to Bologna, which could generate a significant sum to reinvest immediately in the transfer market.

Ravaglia is interested in a transfer to Torino, but the possibility of a permanent transfer changes the dynamics: the player would also have a key role in England, albeit in the second division. Torino’s transfer team, however, has not given up and will try to speed up negotiations in the coming days to see if they can turn the deal back in their favor.

It’s worth noting that Ravaglia isn’t the only name on Gianluca Petrachi’s list for the starting goalkeeper position. The Granata’s sporting director is also closely monitoring the prospects of Wladimiro Falcone—who has already expressed his willingness to leave Lecce—and Lorenzo Montipò of Hellas Verona, whose relegation to Serie B could facilitate a transfer. A third, more exotic alternative is Dominik Livaković: the Croatian goalkeeper, owned by Fenerbahçe, is looking for a new home after a turbulent season that included loan stints at Girona and Dinamo Zagreb.
