According to various sources, Dinamo Sassari continues to closely monitor the possibility of signing Terry Allen to round out its foreign player roster. The Sardinian club has reportedly set its sights on the 33-year-old power forward, who was a standout in Italy during the 2024–25 season with Treviso. After returning to Italy following a stint in Japan last season, he helped Givova Scafati earn promotion to Serie A, finishing the season with an average of 14.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, highlighted by an excellent 39% three-point shooting percentage.

Allen’s connection with Italian basketball has grown stronger over time: as early as the 2023–24 season, the 1993 native had played for Nutribullet Treviso, immediately demonstrating a competitive spirit and a winning mentality. His reaction after a loss to Reggio Emilia was emblematic of this: “I don’t feel good about losing the game. All we can do is get back in the gym and work. We just have to keep our heads down, work as hard as we can, and try to improve quickly,” declared the American forward, revealing the determination that has made him a valued player at every club he’s played for.

Scafati itself—his last stop in Italy—is now preparing to take on the top division with renewed ambition. New head coach Piero Bucchi, officially introduced in recent weeks, has clearly outlined the philosophy of the Campania-based club: “Solidity and character are the elements that must define the team.” It’s a mindset that Allen helped embody during the promotion season, playing a leading role in a journey that culminated in the team’s return to Serie A.

On the transfer front, the possibility of Allen joining Sassari comes amid a landscape where several clubs are finalizing their rosters for the 2026–27 season. Treviso, his former team, is also active in the market in search of a power forward: General Manager Federico Pasquini admitted that in that position “there isn’t much available at the moment,” emphasizing that the market is currently “inflated by the massive investments made by some clubs.” This overall situation could work in Dinamo Sassari’s favor as it seeks to accelerate negotiations to secure the services of the American veteran.
