Novak Djokovic is unstoppable: after a marathon match lasting over five hours, the Serbian champion prevailed over Auger-Aliassime—a top-10 player 15 years his junior—and advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals. It was classic Nole all the way: during the match, there were plenty of tense moments with the supervisor, especially regarding the decision to close the roof and play indoors after the end of the second set.

An annoyed Djokovic immediately protested: “The other day you didn’t want to close it until 8:30. And now you want to close it. Don’t you want to make it to 8:30? It’s 7:40 now. We can play another whole set outdoors. We’re an outdoor tournament.”

The supervisor referred to the match between Sinner and Mochizuki, but Djokovic insisted, growing furious: “As for Jannik, I don’t care what happens in his matches. I’m talking about our match right now. Remember the first round—you didn’t wrap it up until around 8:20. Now you want to wrap it up at 7:40. Where’s the consistency? You’re so proud of your rules, and then you don’t stick to any of them. You have no idea what the rule is.”

Nole’s outburst sparked a reaction from Sinner’s fans: “He never disappoints—him and his arrogance,” “He doesn’t care, but he knows exactly what time they closed the roof during Sinner’s match… interesting… always stirring up controversy,” “He thinks he can call the shots; personality-wise, he’s the opposite of Sinner—I hope he goes home in three sets,” “Arrogant, overbearing, and uncooperative. He’s certainly the most successful, but it’s not just about the numbers,” “There was a conspiracy; they closed the roof to make him lose,” “When Djokovic has to talk about Jannik—and he does so with extreme animosity—he loses it because he still hasn’t gotten over those six losses.” The match against Jannik Sinner has already begun off the court.
