“I’m obviously very happy to be on board; I really can’t wait to embark on this new adventure and play for Derthona,” were Karim Jallow’s first words as a new Bianconero. “I can’t wait to meet the Lions’ fans, my teammates, and the staff. See you soon, guys!” the former Virtus Bologna player concluded, greeting everyone in Italian.

A 198 cm small forward born in 1997 in Munich—where he came up through Bayern’s youth system—he arrives from Virtus Bologna, with whom he made his EuroLeague debut last season, playing 37 games, 27 of them as a starter, averaging 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 21.0 minutes per game. In the 35 official games he played in Italian competitions, he averaged 5.7 points and 3.8 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per game.

Before his Serie A debut, Jallow had spent four standout seasons in his home country with Ratiopharm Ulm. In addition to being named to the Bundesliga All-Star Team in 2025, the Lions’ new addition won the 2022–23 German championship—his second national title after the one he won with Bayern when he was just over 20 years old, a season in which he also added the German Cup to his trophy case with the Bavarians.

With Ulm, he also gained a wealth of EuroCup experience, a competition he will return to with Tortona: he has made four consecutive appearances and averaged 9.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 24.3 minutes across 69 games played.

Jallow has also made 13 appearances for the German national team.
