Corvino sees a Lecce player in blue jersey
Just days before the World Cup kicks off in Qatar, where Roberto Mancini’s Italy will not be playing, Lecce technical area manager Pantaleo Corvino has revealed how he would see a player from the Salento club in the Azzurri jersey.
“Baschirotto in the national team? I hope so and I am convinced that this time too I will be able to bring players from Lecce to Italy,” admitted the Giallorossi manager.
Then he also dwelt on the Danish national team’s failure to call up Lecce captain Hjulmand: “The failure to call up Hjulmand I am sorry instead, in his place at the World Cup there goes Norgaard whom I brought to Florence but we failed to enhance.”
Finally a few words on Vlahovic, whom Corvino brought to Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018: “Every word is superfluous, even so young he is already strong and takes every opportunity to show his growth. He is a boy devoted to work, this World Cup will serve him to prove that he is a champion as well as a great player.”
