It’s time for Juventus to trim its roster, and Giovanni Carnevali is working to find new homes for the various players who are surplus to requirements on the Bianconeri squad. One of them is undoubtedly Fabio Miretti, who failed to convince Luciano Spalletti to give him a chance to prove himself in the Old Lady’s jersey.

Born in 2003, Miretti has several admirers in Italy and beyond: he is in high demand, particularly from Lazio, Fiorentina, Bologna, and Cagliari. The Sardinian club is particularly interested and has already scheduled several meetings with Juventus to assess the feasibility of the deal.

The main obstacle is the deal structure: Juventus would like to sell him outright to immediately capitalize on his transfer, while Cagliari (as well as the other suitors) would prefer a loan with an option to buy. It’s not impossible that Juventus might decide to revise its terms: Miretti is surplus to requirements, and Luciano Spalletti wants to trim the roster.

Juventus is also busy on the goalkeeper front: Michele Di Gregorio no longer has the club’s confidence, and Carnevali is looking for the ideal replacement. There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about Dibu Martinez, but the World Cup runner-up will not be leaving Aston Villa. With Mike Maignan and Mile Svilar also ruled out, the most likely option currently appears to be Zion Suzuki.

Parma and Paris Saint-Germain have now reached an agreement on the Japanese goalkeeper’s transfer to France (the European champions will pay 35 million euros to Parma), but the goalkeeper may not remain in Ligue 1: Juventus hopes to sign him on a one-year loan.
