Rome Transfer Market: Rodrigo Mora Is Already in Italy; Here Are the Details of the Deal. And a Second Winger Is Also on the Way

Roma has pulled off a major coup to bolster Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack: Rodrigo Mora’s move to the Giallorossi is a done deal. The Porto star is expected to arrive in the capital on Tuesday afternoon (his flight lands at 4:30 p.m. at Ciampino) for his medical exam and to sign his contract.
The lengthy negotiations have concluded successfully: the 2007-born player is joining from Porto for a fee of 25 million euros plus bonuses. Roma will have to pay the Portuguese club 50% of any proceeds from a future resale. The player has agreed to a five-year contract with the Giallorossi worth 2 million euros net per season: Gasperini has already spoken with him and indicated where he intends to deploy him on the field—in the attacking midfield role.
Gasperini himself has been pushing hard for Mora, making no secret of his dissatisfaction with a roster that remains incomplete: “It’s clear that, from here on out, I expect something. Several players have left, and this team absolutely needs to be completed—anyone can see that. Having at least two players per position is essential for teams competing in cup competitions. Those who don’t do so end up paying a heavy price.”
Malick Fofana is also now on the verge of joining the Giallorossi. The Lyon star has reportedly been offered a five-year contract worth about 2 million euros per season, while negotiations with the French club are centered on a transfer fee in the range of 35 million. The total investment for both players would be around 60 million euros plus bonuses—a significant sum but one considered compatible with the budget made available by the Friedkins.
Paulo Dybala renewed his contract with Roma last July through 2027, with a salary of approximately 3 million euros net per season. “La Joya” will therefore continue to play a leading role for the Giallorossi, and Gasperini will be able to count on his talent during a season that will see Roma competing on multiple fronts—including the league, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League. Mora and a potential signing like Fofana would further bolster an attacking unit that is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in Serie A.
