F1 Italian Grand Prix: Lego Bricks Take Center Stage in Monza and Milan

From September 3 to 6, on the occasion of the 2026 FORMULA 1 PIRELLI ITALIAN GRAND PRIX, the passion for motorsports will be ignited even more thanks to LEGO® bricks, which will take center stage in Milan and Monza with a program of free events designed for families and enthusiasts of all ages. There are three stops on this celebration of speed and play: Piazza Sempione in Milan, the Fan Zone inside the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and the Palazzo dell’Arengario in the heart of Monza, for the traditional Monza FuoriGP event.
At theArco della Pace, four days dedicated to creativity: the beating heart of the initiative is in Milan, at Piazza Sempione. Here, from yesterday, Thursday, September 3, through Sunday, September 6, LEGO Italia invites residents and fans to a special event marking the 30th anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s arrival at Scuderia Ferrari HP. The event is organized under the patronage of the City of Milan.
At sunset, the square transforms into an open-air stage: three large, spectacular installations shaped like LEGO bricks host a video and light show dedicated to the LEGO® Icons Ferrari F2004 and Michael Schumacher set, a reproduction of the legendary car that cemented the German driver’s place in history.
Accompanying the narrative is one of the champion’s most famous quotes: “I’ve always believed that you should never, ever give up and that you should always keep fighting, even if there’s only a small chance.” This message resonates naturally with the values of the LEGO brand, which have always been linked to creativity, perseverance, and the power of building. Because every great achievement, just like every creation, stems from the ability to imagine, experiment, and keep building—one brick at a time.
The event kicked off yesterday, Thursday, September 3, with an opening night hosted by Linus, the longtime voice and artistic director of Radio Deejay. Joining him was Carlo Vanzini, a journalist and commentator for Sky Sport F1. These two passionate experts on F1 and LEGO sets took the audience on a journey filled with fun facts, anecdotes, and memories tied to the worlds of building and speed.
Following that, the show kicked off, with repeat performances every 30 minutes. Starting today, the show will run daily from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with repeat performances every 30 minutes.
The square has also been transformed into a large play area: all visitors, from the youngest to the oldest, are invited to build their own LEGO brick, which will form part of a mosaic designed by Riccardo Zangelmi—Italy’s only LEGO Certified Professional—and dedicated to the LEGO® Icons Ferrari F2004 and Michael Schumacher set.
The collective artwork, measuring 3×1.80 meters, will be composed of nearly 85,000 bricks in 22 different colors. This mosaic invites visitors to put into action the very philosophy that guided the German driver: perseverance, discipline, and the awareness that even the most ambitious goals are built one piece at a time.
The play area is open on September 3 and 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on September 5 and 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission to the activities in Piazza Sempione is always free.
The Home of LEGO F1
Once again this year, the LEGO Group has entered the temple of speed with The Home of LEGO F1, a space within the circuit’s Fan Zone designed to tell visitors the story of the partnership between the LEGO brand and Formula 1®.
The tour unfolds in several stages. The first is the Workshop, where fans can get a close-up look at the front wing and steering wheel of a LEGO® F1 Big Builds car—one of the 1:1-scale vehicles featured in the legendary Drivers’ Parade at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix. The journey continues with an immersive experience: visitors are greeted by two giant helmets they can “step inside” to discover details and fun facts. The third stop is dedicated to creativity: here, every fan can design their own digital F1® Team Minifigure, customize it as they wish, and finally print it on the exclusive Team Pass.
Next to this space, the LEGO Pit Shop offers the opportunity to purchase the entire range of LEGO® products dedicated to the world of Formula 1®.
The LEGO F1 World at the Arengario: family games and legendary helmets
The LEGO brand’s involvement extends beyond the racetrack as well. The Palazzo dell’Arengario in Piazza Roma, right in the heart of Monza, hosts two areas designed for families and fans of motorsports and speed. The first features game tables, building bricks, and F1-themed photo opportunities for children and parents. The second is dedicated to showcasing the LEGO® Editions Charles Leclerc Scuderia Ferrari HP Helmet and LEGO® Editions Lewis Hamilton Scuderia Ferrari HP Helmet sets.
The area is open with free admission on Thursday, September 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and from Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Motorsports Weekend is also the perfect time to discover LEGO® Insiders, the global loyalty program designed to thank members who never stop playing and recently launched in LEGO Certified Stores. In fact, to mark the occasion, there will be dedicated experiences, special activities, and exclusive perks to make the event even more memorable.
“This initiative fills us with pride and is designed as a multi-stage journey—a real circuit with various pit stops,” says Davide Cajani, Marketing Director at LEGO Italia. “Building is our way of never giving up: one piece at a time, with perseverance, applying creativity and ingenuity—whether alone, in a moment all to oneself, or with others. It’s the mantra that inspires every one of our fans every time they open a LEGO box, with the same passion for motorsports that has always been part of Italy’s DNA and the same determination you feel on the track. That’s why we invite everyone, young and old, to come play, build, and experience a world of speed, engines, and fun.”
