Jorge Martín has no doubts: “It’s going to be a great weekend at Misano.”

Jorge Martín heads into the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix as the World Championship leader. The Aprilia Racing rider heads into the fourteenth round of the season with 256 points in the standings and aims to continue refining the RS-GP26 while also striving to consistently contend for the top positions.

The Misano weekend holds special significance due to Aprilia’s connection to the track, as the team faces one of its home races in front of an Italian crowd. Martín arrives in Romagna following an intense weekend at Aragón, from which he gained valuable insights to continue improving his feel for the bike.

The Spaniard will face the particularly technical Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The track measures 4.23 kilometers and features 16 turns—ten right-handers and six left-handers—as well as numerous direction changes. One of the most challenging sections is the famous “Curvone” (Turn 11), which is taken at speeds approaching 240 km/h.

Despite leading the championship, Martín does not want to focus exclusively on the standings, especially considering the still-narrow gaps between the season’s top contenders. The priority, therefore, remains to continue the path of improvement we’ve embarked on with the RS-GP26.

“The Misano GP is always special when you’re part of an Italian team, and together with Aprilia and the fans, I’m sure it will be a great weekend,” the Spaniard assures us. We’re heading to a track I like, after putting in a good performance at Aragón and with clear goals. Being at the top of the standings is important for the entire Aprilia pit crew, but we’ve already seen that, given the tight margins, it’s neither a priority nor a decisive factor. We need to keep focusing on our work. I can’t wait to hop on the RS-GP26 and give it my all at Aprilia’s home track.”
