The Maria Letizia Verga Foundation Will Be a Charity Partner of Pallacanestro Monza

Pallacanestro Monza’s first season kicks off with a partnership that extends beyond the court: the Maria Letizia Verga Foundation will serve as the team’s Charity Partner, bringing together the worlds of sports, research, and care for children and adolescents with leukemia, lymphoma, and other serious pediatric diseases.

Featured on the players’ uniforms is the lyrics to the song “Fieri di Noi – United For Children,” the song written and performed by teenagers undergoing treatment at the Maria Letizia Verga Center in Monza, part of the IRCCS San Gerardo dei Tintori Foundation, accompanied by an exceptional cast of singers. An anthem to hope and the ability to turn difficulties into strength.

“For us, sports are an integral part of the treatment journey, as well as an extraordinary tool for growth, inclusion, and hope. Every day we see how athletic movements, adapted to each athlete’s condition, can become a precious resource during illness. We now have scientific evidence that sports help preserve and restore energy during treatment, but also help patients regain confidence in themselves, in their abilities, and in their relationships with others,” said Mariapaola Verga, vice president of the Maria Letizia Verga Foundation.
