France-Denmark, the probable formations
Likely lineups
After their crackling debut against Australia, France returns to the pitch for the second round of the group stage. Awaiting them is Denmark, which did not go beyond a 0-0 draw with Tunisia. It will be played at 5 p.m. Italian time at Stadium 974 in Doha.
Deschamps has lost Lucas Hernandez (ruptured ACL for him, ed.); his brother Theo will play in his place. In midfield Tchouaméni starts favored over Fofana, with Juventus’ Rabiot alongside him. In attack there will be Griezmann, Dembelé and Mbappé behind the Rossoneri bomber Giroud.
Hjulmand also has to deal with Delaney’s injury: the replacement will be Damsgaard, who will act as a trequartista paired with Skov Olsen behind the only forward Dolberg. In the middle of the field Eriksen is untouched, on the flanks the Atalantine Maehle and Kristensen, defense headed by the Rossoneri Kjaer.
