F1, Mercedes: Toto Wolff’s pessimism for 2023
Mercedes team principal is pessimistic
Mercedes, in the season that just ended, finished the championship in third place in the constructors’ standings, while in the drivers’ standings George Russell finished fourth and Lewis Hamilton sixth.
The team principal of the German team, Toto Wolff, said he was pessimistic about the coming year and the possibility of competing again for the championship: “I’m never confident, I’m a glass-half-empty kind of guy, I never believe that the work we are doing is good enough.”
“I am not at all confident that we will be able to get back to a position where we can compete for the championship. You have to recognize that the competition is strong, but we will do everything in our power to set our goals high and try to achieve them,” continued Toto Wolff, in an interview reported by ‘gpfans.com’.
