Andrea Calzavara Sends a Clear Message to Olimpia Milano

The future remains a possibility to be evaluated in due course, while the present calls for consistent performance on the court. Andrea Calzavara, a point guard born in 2001 who plays for APU Udine in the Serie A league, discussed his relationship with Olimpia Milano in an interview with “Tuttosport,” drawing a clear line between his day-to-day competitive life and the prospects of joining the red-and-white club, with which he has already signed a preliminary agreement.
The performances of the Gallarate-born point guard have caught the attention of the Milan-based club, with which a preliminary agreement was formalized last summer. The strategic agreement calls for the guard to remain in Udine to complete his technical and physical development, leaving the Milanese club the option to exercise its option at the end of the season.
When asked about the matter by the Turin-based newspaper, Calzavara analyzed the situation pragmatically: “Right now there’s a preliminary contract, and it’ll be up to Milan to decide whether or not to call me. But it’s a situation I’m not thinking about, precisely because it’s still a long way off, it’s not certain, and because I want to avoid feeling any additional pressure. Sure, it’s a big deal, but I’ll deal with it if and when the time comes.”
The player’s words outline a clear stance: his priority is training in the gym and achieving his goals with Udine, postponing any assessment of a potential move to a club like Olimpia Milano and the prestigious EuroLeague until the Milan-based club makes its final decision.
