Atalanta returns to the field in the Conference League to face Kairat, the soccer team from Almaty—Kazakhstan’s most populous city—on Matchday 3 of the group stage. The match is set for Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the New Balance Arena, with Maurizio Sarri’s team looking to bounce back after a heavy 3-0 loss to Parma in league play. In Europe, the Bergamo side secured a victory against Pafos in their opener before falling to Ajax on Matchday 2.

Maurizio Sarri lines up Atalanta in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Carnesecchi is in goal, while the defense features Idele starting on the right flank in place of Zappacosta, with Bernasconi on the left and the Scalvini-Obric pairing in the center. In midfield, Elmas partners Pasalic, with Ederson resting. In the attacking midfield, Sulemana, Samardzic, and Rowe support lone striker Scamacca.

Coach Arutiunian’s Kairat, meanwhile, lines up in a more defensive 5-3-2 formation. In front of Anarbekov, the five-man defensive line consists of Mrynskiy, Martynovich, Shirobokov, Kasabulat, and Mata. Tuyakbaev, Mendonça, and Oksanen feature in midfield, while the attacking duo is made up of Gual and Edmilson.
