F1, Red Bull wrath on Ferrari
At the Autosport Awards ceremony, Red Bull technical director Adrian Newey spoke about the struggle with Ferrari: “We fought very hard with them in the first part of the championship. They were faster on some circuits and we were faster on others, but then we worked to complete our car making it suitable for every type of track, this allowed us to have an extremely positive second half of the season and finish ahead of Ferrari.”
“We had to deal with a very important and complex regulatory change, given the battle in 2021 we faced some not insignificant challenges. However, if I look back and take overall stock of our season, I have to say that I am satisfied,” Newey concluded.
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
