Spezia, bench jumps: Luca Gotti exonerated
Fatal to the draw suffered in a comeback in full recovery, comes the exoneration.
Luca Gotti is no longer the coach of Spezia. To make the news official was the Ligurian club itself, with a short official statement issued on Wednesday evening. To replace him in pole position seems to be former Spal and Cagliari Leonardo Semplici.
“Spezia Calcio communicates that it has relieved Luca Gotti from the position of coach in charge of the first team. The club intends to thank the coach for his activity so far and wishes him the best professional successes,” the note from the Ligurian club reads. Spezia was coming off a nail-biting 2-2 draw at home to Empoli, which had scored two goals in the last 20 minutes of the match (and the decisive goal in full recovery).
Spezia has collected only one point in its last four matches and after Verona’s win over Salernitana is only 2 points behind the relegation zone.
