Despite a good final time (one second and 13 hundredths slower than the winner Kajsa Vickhoff Lie), Elena Curtoni failed to place among the top ten in the Kvitfjell downhill that gave Sofia Goggia the specialty CdM title late Saturday morning.
The 32-year-old native of Morbegno finished thirteenth and, speaking to official Fisi channels, she did not hide a bit of regret for the weather conditions: “I felt like I had caught a rather big gust of wind,” she said, “and it seemed contrary, then it’s always difficult to understand as you go downhill.
“I wanted to do well and I felt like my skiing was good,” Curtoni added. “Now I’m thinking about Sunday’s super-G, which will still be a great race.
