Ducati armors Jorge Martin and snubs Marc Marquez
Ds Ciabatti has no doubts: “Jorge Martin has a contract with us, there is no place for Marc Marquez.”
Ducati sport director Paolo Ciabatti to Motorsport sent a clear message regarding the future of Jorge Martin, the weekend’s triumphant rider in Germany: “Jorge has a two-year contract with us. In the event that he received an offer from an official team he would have the opportunity to tell us so that we could eventually tie the offer. I am not aware that he has received offers from Factory teams, much less that he has any intention of getting off a Ducati after the last few races. Martin will therefore be on the Pramac Ducati in 2024, as planned.”
Door closed for Marc Marquez, who is in big trouble with Honda and is tempted to leave: “There is no room for other riders, we already have many and we are happy with ours.”
Jorge Martin came out on top at the Sachsenring, winning both the sprint race and the German Grand Prix ahead of Pecco Bagnaia.
