Wimbledon: Jannik Sinner breaks silence on his condition
Jannik Sinner in a brief statement confirmed his attendance for the third Slam of the season
Jannik Sinner with a brief statement confirmed his presence for the Wimbledon tournament, the third Slam of the season kicking off with the main draw on July 3. The Italian tennis player had worried fans about his withdrawal in the quarterfinals in Halle during the match against Bublik, caused by a left thigh problem.
The San Candido athlete confirmed that his physical troubles have been overcome and that he will be at the start of the most prestigious tournament of the season: “Thank you Halle for the opportunity to play last week. I hope to see you next year. It is never easy to retire, but I had to do what was right for my body at that time. After a few days of rest and after consulting with my doctor, I am happy to share that I will be fit and ready for Wimbledon.”
Sinner, back at No. 8 in the world but falling in the Atp Race, had stopped in the quarterfinals in 2022, defeated by Novak Djokovic, later winner of the tournament.
