Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic trained together on the Wimbledon Central
An exceptional duo of Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner were the first to sample the grass of Wimbledon Central, the world’s most prestigious tennis court, ahead of the start of the Championships next Monday.
In fact, the two practiced for about three quarters of an hour simulating a mini matche of which, however, the outcome will never be known. Those who feared a Sinner forfeit after the Queen’s injury can therefore rest assured, the forfeit will not be there. Tomorrow the two singles draw boards will be drawn and in the men’s draw Djokovic will be the No. 2 seed while Sinner will be No. 8.
The Serb has not lost a match at Church Road since even 2017, when he withdrew in the quarterfinals against Tomas Berdych, and since then he has been on a 28-match winning streak on London’s grass, where this year he will be chasing his eighth triumph, fifth in a row, as well as his 24th Slam. Sinner, however, last year in the quarters forced him to come back from two sets down.
