Genoa, for midfielders, zero-parameter coup is being studied
Guilavogui in Genoa’s crosshairs
The transfer market will officially open on Saturday, July 1, but Italian clubs are already scouring the lists of expiring players to reinforce their respective rosters for next season: among them is the name of Joshua Guilavogui, a midfielder who will formally end his adventure at Wolfsburg today and who, according to ‘Il Secolo XIX,’ is at the top of Genoa’s wish list for the midfielder role.
Guilavogui, a Frenchman of Guinean origin born in 1990, grew up at Saint Etienne, a club with which he made his professional debut in 2009. After a brief stint at Atletico Madrid in 2013, Guilavogui returned to Saint-Etienne before a move to Wolfsburg in 2014: a very long adventure in Germany, interrupted only in the first part of the season just ended with a loan at Bordeaux. Guilavogui also boasts 7 appearances with the French national team, collected between 2013 and 2015.
Meanwhile, work also continues on the attack: Krzysztof Piatek remains the first choice, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta the dream.
