F1, Gian Carlo Minardi crowns Max Verstappen
During an interview with the microphones of “La Repubblica,” Formula Imola president Gian Carlo Minardi commented on Red Bull’s dominance in this first part of the championship. In addition, the former manager wanted to analyze in no uncertain terms the amazing performance of Max Verstappen, who is traveling fast toward his third consecutive title.
“In Belgium he trimmed 22 seconds off his teammate, Perez, who runs in the same car as him. He was able to easily beat Checo, as he did with all those poverettu who ended up in the same team as him in past seasons,” the former Minardi team manager began.
“That guy every time manages to achieve a perfect combination with his car. The Red Bull is very powerful, but it is his ability to drive it that makes it unbeatable. In these 8 years he has gained a lot of experience and I think he is at the peak of his career. Who knows, though, he might grow more and do better,” added the president of Formula Imola.
“There is him and then the others who share the crumbs. If Max did not exist F1 would be a more balanced and spectacular fight. Ferrari could play it with Mercedes and Aston Martin, as long as they never make mistakes,” concluded Gian Carlo Minardi.
