ATP Umag: Fabio Fognini straight out, no derby
Galan Riveros surprises Ligurian: he will be the one to face Zeppieri
Fabio Fognini failed to make it past the first round of the ATP tournament in Umag, played on the clay of the Croatian city: the Ligurian tennis player, in fact, lost in three sets to Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan Riveros, who was able to impose himself 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 in two hours and 45 minutes of play.
Skip, therefore, the possibility of the derby in the second round that had been created after the beautiful victory of Giulio Zeppieri against Pedro Chachin: the class of 2001, coming from the qualifiers, had in fact won in a comeback with partials of 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, gaining access to the next round where, at this point, will meet precisely the executioner of Fognini in the ATP 250 tournament.
The term ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) refers to the association that brings together all male professional tennis players from all corners of the world. The ATP’s primary task is to protect the interests of the players and also to organize essential services, such as, for example, the drafting of the world ranking, called the ATP ranking, and tournament scheduling.
