George Russell reassures everyone after Suzuka
George Russell’s words ahead of the Qatar GP
At the press conference to introduce the Qatar GP, Mercedes driver George Russell wanted to shed light on his relationship with teammate Lewis Hamilton after the Suzuka incidents.
"I don't think there is much to add, between me and Lewis è everything cleared up. We were on different strategies and as is often the case, right after the race emotions run high and maybe we overstate things. After all what è happened in Miami, on the flip side, the matter è was handled very well by the team" began the British driver to the microphones of "Sky Sport F1".
"We tried to risk this strategy. I in primis was aware that it would be difficult to close the race with only one pit stop on such a track. Because of the current standings situation and the way the race was going, we felt the need to take this risk. After all, we did not lose anything" added the'former Williams.
"We are on a track with a lot of fast corners so we will see how we do. The Sprint Race could shuffle the situation a lot, but I think Verstappen is the favorite ahead of the McLarens. We will fight with the Ferraris for the second position in the constructors’ championship. A result that would be important, but it will be much more so; designing the right car ahead of 2024" George Russell commented on his feelings ahead of the Qatar GP.
