Formula 1 world in mourning: farewell to Alberto Antonini
Known paddock insider, è arrived in Ferrari in 2015
Mourning in the world of sports. At age 62, Antonini, one of the well-known faces of Formula 1, has è passed away. From Imola, è was a sports journalist of great stature, very attached to Formula 1, his true passion. He worked for Auto Sprint, SKY and many other media outlets before moving to the other side of the fence.
In 2015, in fact, he was chosen as head of communication for Ferrari in Formula 1 (he will remain at the Redhead until 2019). A complicated role but carried out with great shrewdness and professionalism, managing perfectly many important personalities within the Cavallino, under the guidance of the then team principal Arrivabene.
Ill for some time, he spent the last days of his life hospitalized at Sant'Orsola Hospital in Bologna. "We were distinct and distant brothers. He would tell me: I would like to write as well as you. I used to answer him: maybe I write better than you, but I don't understand about F1 like you. And he would laugh and tell me about his cats and sleepless nights and a thousand things that the wind of life took away", the words of colleague/friend Turrini.
