Reduced by two consecutive defeats in the league, on Dec. 23 on the parquet of Pallacanestro Reggiana and seven days later at home against Reyer Venezia, Dinamo Sassari wants to take revenge in the Basketball Champions League: the goal is to get through the play-in for access to the Top 16 against Cholet, a best-of-three series that will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 3 with the challenge in the French team’s arena.

"We are going to play for the play-in – said the coach of the islanders, Piero Bucchi, to the official channels of the club -, we face a good team like Cholet, a solid team that has very good individualities but we want to turn around the last period. We want to have a better approach by maintaining solidityà throughout the match".

For Bucchi, team spirit will be important in order to react to the negative period and win a victory that would give a precise direction to the series, given that game 2 will be played in Sassari: "We talked among ourselves,” explained the Dinamo coach, “we must try to have more continuity and aggressiveness spread throughout the forty minutes.

Dinamo gained access to the Basketball Champions League play-in not without a few too many sufferings in the first group stage.However, two victories, one against Ludwigsburg (another promoted to the play-in) and another against Szczecin, were enough to get the better of the Poles in the standings and get to contend for a place in the Top 16 thanks to third place in the group won by AEK.
