Matteo Arnaldi collapses and says goodbye to Rome
Matteo Arnaldi's experience at the Internazionali di Roma ended in the second round. The Ligurian tennis player, debilitated by a nagging allergy, è was defeated in two sets by Chilean Nicolas Jarry, his black beast, and è was forced to say goodbye to the Foro Italico audience.
Jarry, always a winner in his previous meetings with Arnaldi, dominated the first set, closing 6-2. The Davis Cup-winning Azzurro struggled mightily to get into the match, suffering two breaks in the third and fifth games.
In the second, the San Remo native è managed to fight back but wasted no less than seven set points, three on 6-5 and four in the tie-break, and thus surrendered to the Chilean, who è qualified for the third round of the Masters 1000.
In the next round Jarry will face the winner of the match between Shang and Napolitano.
