There is tension between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy

The two samples do not agree

A potential merger between the PGA Tour and the Arab Super League is causing disagreement between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, despite the fact that the two are business partners and founders of the TGL, a technology league that will start in January 2025. 

Woods, winner of 15 majors, who recently voiced opposition to McIlroy’s return to the PGA Tour policy board, believes the Tour can maintain its economic sustainability without relying on Pif Fund funding. 

On the contrary, the Northern Irishman argues that the current golf ecosystem is not sustainable in the long term and that immediate action is needed to ensure the financial stability of the Tour: “It’ requires a quick understanding” he stressed.

A couple of weeks The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced that Tiger Woods has received and accepted a special exemption to play the 124th U.S. Open, scheduled for June 13-16 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
