Euro 2024, disintegrated Germany-Scotland referee
Germany-Scotland referee Clement Turpin è was sharply rejected by former match director and RAI moviolist Mauro Bergonzi, who panned the French whistle-blower for some oversights that occurred in the first half of the Euro 2024 opening match.
"Turpin's first half was absolutely insufficient", Bergonzi ruled at halftime of the match on Rai microphones. Turpin was è fooled by Musiala at the 25', when he incorrectly awarded the penalty to Germany: saving him è the VAR which signaled him that the alleged foul had occurred outside the Scottish area.
At 42' then Turpin did not see Porteus's bad intervention on Gundogan; called back by VAR, the referee è retraced his steps by awarding the penalty to Germany and sending off the Scot.
With goals from Wirtz, Musiala and Havertz (penalty), Germany mortgaged the game already at the end of the first half.
