Inter: renewal one step away for Simone Inzaghi’s sidekick
Denzel Dumfries toward renewal
After having now finalized the renewal of Simone Inzaghi, Inter would have made huge steps forward also regarding the future of Denzel Dumfries, whose contract will expire on June 30, 2025. In the last few days, in fact, the Milanese club would have had a meeting with the player's entourage to try to reach an agreement.
According to a report by "La Gazzetta dello Sport", the Dutch side, complicit in the will to continue his adventure in the Nerazzurri, would lower his demands and open to the club's offer. In the winter session, the player would have already rejected the first proposal submitted by Inter on the basis of a renewal until 2028 at 4 million euros net per season, since the agent's request was around 5.5 million euros.
The parties would have already reached an agreement regarding the extension and would now be working to find common ground on the economic part. New contacts between the club and Dumfries's entourage would be expected in the coming days in order to reach the final white smoke, which should come once the player's adventure at Euro 2024 is over.
Once all the renewals are finalized, Inter will go back to focusing on the market, where the priority will be to try to thin out the squad, so as to create a little treasure to reinvest in the income.
