The match between Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev gave Wimbledon a historical record: it è the thirty-sixth match of the 2024 Championships in the fifth set: in a Slam, in the Open Era, there had never been so many matches closed in the fifth set.
During the third set Sinner experienced physical discomfort: he complained of dizziness and è was forced to return to the locker room. After a full 12 minutes of medical-break è he managed, gathering all the strength in his body, to return to the court to continue the duel against the very strong Russian.
The third set è was won by Medvedev but in the fourth set the azure cleared his opponent 6-2 in just 25 minutes, showing epic resilience after the dizziness.
